The group affects the Red Bull U18 ice hockey team. According to the club, young players and coaches are infected. As of Friday at 10 a.m., 28 people had tested positive for Covid-19.
Contact tracing is in full swing
The contact person management has been running late into the night since last night and since 7 am today, the city of Salzburg announced in a broadcast on Friday.
Together with those responsible for the academy, a coordinated approach was agreed to minimize the risk of new infections.
Isolated Red Bull team affected
According to information from Red Bull, training, championship and academy operations have been suspended until further notice. The affected team is isolated and quartered at the site until September 25. Contact tracing is currently focused on the three schools in question and the players’ after-school life. All other youth on site and staff will be screened with a rapid test on Friday and will be picked up or released home if the result is negative.
