Currently 14 municipalities in Vorarlberg are “crown free”.

Starting Wednesday 4 pm – The Vorarlberg state board shows 102 new infections for Wednesday so far, with 131 recoveries. This reduces the number of people actively infected with the coronavirus in Vorarlberg by 33 to 1,245.

Four more people died from the corona virus on Wednesday. This brings the death toll in Vorarlberg to 206.

The Christmas tests got off to a good start. According to the state information available to VOL.AT, the first 5,000 people have already been tested.

Situation in hospitals

On Tuesday, 8 people with COVID-19 were admitted to hospitals.

A total of 77 COVID-19 patients are currently being cared for as inpatients.

As of Wednesday, 205 normal beds will be available for Covid patients, 143 of which are still available.

In addition, 200 regular beds have been prepared for COVID-19 patients at the Dornbirn emergency care center.

10 people could be discharged from the hospital.

As of today, a total of 59 beds are available for intensive medical treatment of patients. Currently, 15 COVID-19 patients need treatment in the intensive care unit. In addition, 19 non-Covid patients receive intensive care. There are currently 25 intensive care beds available for all patient groups.

Yesterday three people died in connection with the virus in hospitals in Vorarlberg.

57 employees tested positive for Corona, 16 are also in quarantine.

Seven-day incidence

According to the crown board of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), Vorarlberg has the third highest value of all Austrian federal states after Carinthia and Salzburg with the incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants. With 175 new infections (after 183 on Tuesday), the value in Vorarlberg fell on Wednesday, but still above the Austrian average.

The Austrian average of the seven-day incidence was 157 on Wednesday.

With seven-day incidents between 154 and 206, none of the four Vorarlberg districts are currently in the top 20.
