The effective breeding number in Austria is below 1.0 for the first time since August 10. An infected person recently infected an average of 0.99 other people, as estimates by the Agency for Food Safety and Health (AGES) and TU Graz show.
“The number of new cases diagnosed each day continues to increase,” was emphasized in the update posted on the AGES home page on Friday afternoon.

The period from September 17 to 29 was examined. The estimated daily rate of increase for new infections was minus 0.6 percent as of September 29. In some federal states, the number of newly diagnosed cases was very low, so fluctuations in the number of reproductions must be interpreted with great caution, experts emphasized.
