In Vorarlberg, around 9,000 people have so far registered for the free corona rapid tests on December 23 and 24.

This means that the capacity limit has been reached, Health Minister Martina Rüscher (ÖVP) reported on Thursday afternoon. The offer cannot be increased without limit, he said. Registrations are only possible occasionally.

Test roads

As early as Thursday morning, capacities were initially expanded from 3,000 to 9,000 tests. However, this capacity limit was exhausted within a few hours. Test roads are available for testing before Christmas in the cities of Bregenz, Dornbirn, Feldkirch and Bludenz, and there are also test options in the Bregenz forest and Kleinwalsertal. So far, around 40 doctors have reported doing the tests on a voluntary basis, according to Rüscher.

If you couldn’t secure a spot and still want to get tested before Christmas, you can also use a corresponding service at pharmacies, the regional councilor said. However, those services are not free.
