Marco Schwarz has collected five medals in the two most recent Ski World Championships.
Not a bad performance for a 25-year-old with a few years of career left. The Carinthian is “a great dog,” said his trainer Marko Pfeifer in Cortina d’Ampezzo.

“It’s really cool to be on the podium in the giant slalom. That was a big dream this season too. I already had a lot of plans. It didn’t work out that way in the World Cup races,” Schwarz said after Friday’s surprise hit. .
Pfeifer explained: “A World Cup has its own laws anyway. It was one of the most demanding giant slalom races at big events in a long, long time. I knew he liked tough conditions.”

The coach had a premonition

Schwarz was upset that he “ruined” the steep incline in the first round.

The button was opened with his first slalom victory at the World Cup on January 10 in Adelboden, his coach said: “It was clear to me that once that happened, I would just ski freely.”
On Sunday (10am / 1.30pm on the LIVE ticker), the slalom is the next chance for Schwarz to increase his medal collection.
The off-roader now has one gold (2021 combination), one silver (2019 team), and three bronzes (2019 combination and slalom, RTL 2021). “There just aren’t that many complete skiers, and for me Blacky is one of the most complete,” said Pfeifer.
