Construction works cause traffic jams in Salzburg

[ad_1]

A lot of construction work is currently underway in the city of Salzburg; This, of course, also involves disruptions and delays in traffic.

Renovation works in the Salzburger Straße (B150) area in the state capital between Rudolfsplatz and Hellbrunnerstraße 9 have been in progress since Monday. In the next three months, the country’s road and drainage systems will be rehabilitated and sidewalks will be replaced by the city. Rudolfsplatz is likely to be difficult to get through on the first weekend in September and Nonntaler Bridge will be closed in one direction.

Drive extensively on Rudolfsplatz

From Saturday September 5 (4 am) to Monday September 7 (4 am) the traffic will stop alternately in all directions, the Nonntaler Bridge is generally closed in the direction of Nonntal. Traffic obstructions are expected. Extensive evasion is recommended. The locks also apply to cyclists and pedestrians. For this, independent routes have been marked.

Construction activities in Riedenburg in the final

In the Riedenburg district, only two pipeline construction works and the final asphalt work are pending. However, by the end of October, all road and line construction sites in the area around the Riedenburg district should be finished. Delays can only occur if it rains continuously.

During the “Almabkehr” (from September 7 to the end of September), Salzburg AG is still working on the gas and water pipes under the Alm canal in Neutorstrasse. To do this, the Almkanal has to be empty, since with a normal flow of water the stream bed could break out of control and endanger the workers.

For the same reason, work on the gas and water pipelines on the Leopoldskronstrasse between Almkanal and Nußdorferstrasse can only be carried out during the exit of the Alm. Construction work on this line will continue until the end of October. To do this, the Leopoldskronstrasse must be closed between Sinnhubstrasse and Nußdorferstrasse. However, neighbors can come and go at any time.

Construction works in Andräviertel

In Andräviertel, construction sites for Salzburg AG and the city are going according to plan. In September 2020 the following management works will be carried out:

  • The district heating pipeline is being renovated in Franz-Josef-Strasse, between Faberstrasse and Haydnstrasse. After local excavations, existing lines are removed and new pipes are inserted. As a result, the trees and their roots along the Franz-Josef-Straße are protected as best as possible.
  • The district heating pipeline between Julius-Raab-Platz and Haydnstraße will be built at Auerspergstraße and a household connection will be made at Haydnstraße. For motor vehicles, it is not possible to divert Julius-Raab-Platz towards Weiserstraße until the end of September. A one-way street outside the city will be installed in this area, from which it will be possible to turn in both directions towards Haydnstraße. In September, the canal will also be built in the area between Auerspergstraße 35 and 49. During this time, the Auerspergstrasse between Haydnstrasse and Stelzhamerstrasse will be closed to traffic. This means that it is not possible to turn off the Paracelsusstrasse onto Auerspergstrasse. Residents, pedestrians and bicyclists can enter and cross at any time.
  • Due to the rapid construction progress, the main water line between Stelzhamerstraße and Rupertgasse will be renovated this year using the so-called break lining method. For this, only small digging holes are necessary, from which the pipes are extracted or the connections of the house are renewed. Auerspergstraße can always be used in both directions, there can only be isolated minor obstructions.
