As KURIER announced on Wednesday, Miron Muslic will be SV Ried’s new coach. The 38-year-old will begin work on January 1. “I am very happy that SV Ried is giving me the opportunity to work as a coach in the Bundesliga. It will be an exciting and challenging task that I will gladly take on with all my might, ”Muslic is quoted in a broadcast.

“I am convinced that we will be able to offer all our fans attractive football in the spring. I would also like to thank the FAC that the club made the move possible for me,” Muslic explains.

“Miron Muslic knows SV Ried very well. At Ried, he not only worked as an assistant coach for the pros, but also as a coach for the Young Vikings and the Academy. After consulting with the board of directors, we decided to embark on a brave new path together with Miron Muslic. Miron Muslic is a young and aspiring coach and therefore meets our requirements exactly, ”says Managing Director Rainer Wöllinger.

New sports coordinator

The club did not provide any information about the contract period. Meanwhile, Wolfgang Fiala was also promoted within the club. The 33-year-old director of the academy will also be hired in the future as the sports coordinator for the professionals and will therefore assume a responsible role in staff planning.

Fiala only came from the ÖFB in the summer and is said to have played a role in the selection of the new coach. Both Fiala and Muslic belong to the current highest training course to complete the UEFA Pro license and are considered modern and promising types of coaches.

Gerhard Schweitzer, Gerald Baumgartner’s last assistant coach, will remain at the club and work at the academy.
