Terrible scenes in the district of Gmunden: after an accident between two cars, one of the victims involved was run over by a concrete truck.
Shortly before the Laakirchen Ost motorway exit, at the Lindach service station, there was a collision between two cars on Monday afternoon. An occupant of one of the two cars involved was hit by a semi-trailer truck and died.
The course of the accident remains the subject of police investigation. Firefighters had been alerted to a trapped person.
It is not yet clear whether the fatally injured accident victim was thrown out of the car in the accident or got out of the car by himself.
Another person was injured in the accident and was transferred with the “Martin 3” rescue helicopter to the Salzkammergut Clinic in Vöcklabruck. As a result of clean-up work in the direction of Salzburg, the western highway was closed for about two hours. At the crash site, there was a traffic jam for miles.
