The figures visible to the population on the AGES board showed a completely different picture than at the time of the traffic light commission’s decision. The incidence value (positive cases per 100,000 people in the last seven days) was 92.4, the lowest in the entire state. The traffic light is only red in the Neusiedl district, yes. This is not understandable to the population.
Here, the country’s crown crisis team would be required to transparently communicate the reasons for the traffic light change, as it is not just the dry case numbers that are decisive. Clustering, availability of hospital beds, or testing capacities, for example, are included in the decision. If citizens are supposed to adhere to regulations, it will be easier for them if they understand the background.
