Private homes and free time – This is where most of the crown clusters in Austria are built. Private celebrations in its own four walls are still not prohibited despite the strictest measures (six people inside). However, Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) made people sit down and take notice with a warning.
On Monday, the federal government announced a series of stricter measures in the fight against the further spread of the corona virus. Among other things, these are private events. Without a seat assigned by name, a maximum of six people can stay in closed rooms, while in the garden there can be twelve people.
However, the scope of the police to control these meetings is not too great. The executive can, as before the times of Corona, intervene in case of complaints / denunciations about noise.
The consequences of crown parties may be less for the party in individual cases. But hangover moods can exist across the country.
From 38:08 – “when too many people have parties …”
Because Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said in his press conference on Monday: “If too many people in Austria are having parties and are happy that the police have no control here, yes, then it will work for a while, but as a result, the number of infections will increase, then the need to take even tougher measures.
There are many countries that have already reached the point where all restaurants, all schools close again. So of course: you can strain it until you get back to that point. “
In other words: The possibility of a blockade, at least partially imposed, of certain infrastructures is briefly reserved.

Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz on the possible consequences of party-induced crown clusters.
Four fifths of the clusters are “private”
Background: During the epidemiological investigation of Covid-19 diseases, the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) identified a total of 734 clusters (accumulations of cases within a given period in a given region) with 3099 people affected in week 41 of the calendar. About four-fifths of the cases that occurred between October 5 and 11 concerned private households and the leisure sector.
Specifically, 436 clusters could be assigned to the family area, which corresponds to 58.8 percent of the new cases. 155 groups or 20.9 percent could be assigned to leisure activities. In contrast, sports, travel and hospitality with eight, eleven and twelve clusters barely played a role. AGES was made up of 18 clusters in the education sector, 27 in the health and social sectors. 46 clusters appeared in the professional field.
The individual clusters that were formed in households, however, included significantly fewer people than those in leisure time and in the social and health sectors. In absolute numbers, there were 1,332 affected families in the families, which affected 41.7 percent of all new patients.
Almost a quarter of all those affected, exactly 24.3 percent or 755 people, were infected during leisure activities, slightly more than one in ten (344 people or 10.8 percent) in the sectors health and social.
Regarding the cluster search, AGES was able to locate 75 more clusters in calendar week 41 than in the previous week. To avoid the spread in the family circle, the AGES repeated its recommendations to isolate the interested party when a case occurs, not to leave the apartment and avoid private visits. All household members should use the toilet facilities separately, hygiene items and towels should be used separately.
As exact examinations of groups in kindergartens and schools have shown, children are mainly infected through pedagogues who are in the presymptomatic phase, that is, they do not yet show any symptoms but are already contagious. In the age group under 10 years, up to half of the children are asymptomatic. According to previous knowledge, asymptomatically infected people played a rather subordinate role in the spread of the infection, emphasizes the AGES.
