Christoph Swarovski, head of Tyrolit and president of the Tyrol Federation of Industry, will not succeed Helmut Swarovski, who retired from the group’s leadership, on the advisory board of Daniel Swarovski KG. It did not receive the necessary approval at a shareholders meeting Wednesday, the group announced in a broadcast.
Helmut Swarovski, great-grandson of company founder Daniel Swarovski, was one of those family members who disagreed with the latest decisions made by Swarovski CEO Robert Buchbauer. Christoph Swarovski, who, according to Helmut, should succeed him on the advisory board, also committed to the Wattens location.
At the moment, the advisory council will only consist of five members instead of six, namely Marina Giori-Lhota, Monika Schiestl-Swarovski, Markus Langes-Swarovski, Mathias Margreiter and Robert Buchbauer. The presidency, previously held by Helmut Swarovski, will be temporarily assumed by Vice President Marina Giori-Lhota, according to the broadcast.
“Today we have taken another step towards a successful future for Swarovski. The necessary formal files, such as business registry entries, etc., can now be quickly implemented,” said Buchbauer.
