David, a 9-year-old boy from England, has brain tumors, but his parents don’t have the heart to tell him.
With David increasingly complaining of headaches, his parents, Chris and Kelly, called the doctor. After the interview, they were referred by him directly to a hospital, where David was supposed to do various tests, reports “Liverpool Echo”. His father told the newspaper: “When we came out of the confinement and he had to go back to school, he said he didn’t want to go back to school.” His parents initially thought their son was a little scared of school.
The child knows nothing of the diagnosis.
The doctor was anything but pleased with the first test results and therefore ordered a blood count, among other things. On December 22, it finally became clear what was going on with David. Chris and Kelly learned that their son had three large and several small brain tumors. But since then they have not had the courage to tell their son the truth. David’s father explained: “We did not mention the K word or the tumor in his presence. He just thinks he has terrible lumps, that’s all we say now.”
