Bayern coach Hansi Flick had re-announced in recent days to keep his head of defense. More recently, sporting director Salihamidzic had also stated that Alaba did not want to put “an ultimatum” on a decision.

Alaba last publicly spoke about his situation three weeks ago as part of the ÖFB team camp. “I feel very comfortable in Munich, it has been my home for twelve years. I was able to experience very pleasant moments there,” the defensive off-roader said at the time.
