If I am in the country, with relatives, etc. December 24, 25: Should I drive to my main residence at night or at night?
The “1 plus 1” rule also applies here: if you go to the family’s party to celebrate with your spouse and children, you must be back home on the 25th if you want to comply with the law. In the confinement, meetings are only explicitly allowed between households and relatives or “individual” people, in other words: I can only visit parents, friends, relatives, etc. on the 26th if I’m alone.
Do I have to wear mouth and nose protection when I get together at home?
No. This is not intended or necessary. It is, by the way, not only for high-risk patients, in meetings with people who do not belong to the home and who have not been evaluated as a precautionary measure to reduce the risk of disease.
How many people can celebrate New Year’s Eve together?
The “1 plus 1” rule also applies here, that is: only one person can visit another home.
Can I redeem the shopping vouchers I received for Christmas as of December 28?
That depends on what business it is. Basically all trading will be closed as of December 26. Only companies that sell important products like groceries, hygiene items, or medicines (supermarkets, pharmacies, drugstores) can keep it open. But: All companies can set up a collection service (“Click & Collect”) between 6 am and 7 pm. If products can be reserved and delivered outdoors, the entire range can be ordered and collected.
Do I have to wait for the lockdown to end if my car breaks down while on vacation?
No. Unlike hairdressers, nail salons, massage therapists, etc., service providers who are “not close to the body” can keep them open. These include auto repair shops, insurance companies, cleaning shops, tailor shops, and banks.
Can I go skiing during the holidays?
Yes. While indoor sports facilities (tennis courts, gyms, etc.) remain closed to amateur athletes, outdoor sports facilities such as cross-country ski trails, ice rinks and ski slopes are open. Cable cars will be able to carry passengers from December 24, but strict rules apply here: gondolas and covered armchairs can only be occupied by a maximum of 50 percent. At least one FFP2 mask must be worn while climbing and queuing. Warning: scarves are not good enough here.
