Unlike many other competitors in the league, the Hütteldorfer did not use CoV testing in advance, despite the coronavirus pandemic. However, before training sessions begin on the courts next to the Allianz Stadium, captain Stefan Schwab and company must take a fever measurement. There were no problems on Tuesday. With the exception of Phillipp Schobesberger, who was convalescing after his cruciate ligament rupture, Kühbauer has all his strength at his disposal.
The five training groups have five players and a goalkeeper, while Kühbauer has assembled a “colorful mix” from all positions. “We will also try to do a positional game, one or the other exercise, but fundamentally it is not the case that something incredible can happen in these weeks, because with five players you cannot do things in the world,” said the quick coach.
“The rules must be followed”
Despite the coronavirus crisis and the “forced rest” of nearly six weeks, the Burgenlander has not lost its sense of humor. “None of the boys gave the impression that he had gained weight, one or the other had cut his wife’s hair, for some it is better that he have a mask on top,” said Kühbauer. Participants must follow all paths, except those directly for training, with protective nose and mouth masks. “There are rules and you have to observe them,” said the 49-year-old man. “As long as there is no mask on the ball, it is not a problem.”
In addition, the league also advises on the measures necessary to carry out the “ghost games” planned but far from being approved to continue the championship. The exact plans, which are also based on the German example, are not officially known, but it is reported that everything is also about “social distancing”.
Many questions remain open
Some very detailed questions have to be clarified, u. a .: Are there separate entrances for the referees and for the players and teams traveling with two buses each, as kickers must not sit next to each other? Where should used clothing be deposited after the game? How many ball kids are there and do they have to wear these gloves? Are they children or adults? In addition to the staff, are journalists approved for television production? If so, how many?
The league, whose clubs are in constant communication in this regard, wants to demonstrate to the ministry that every effort will be made to continue the season in accordance with health requirements. The concept in this regard, known to clubs since last week, could be presented to the ministry later this week.
