Defensive all-rounder Stephan Auer returns to Admira after five years at Rapid Vienna. The 29-year-old signs a two-year contract until 2022.

“I owe a lot to Admira. I grew up with this club,” Auer said in a broadcast from Lower Austria. “I am looking forward to working with the many young players and I will do everything in my power so that we can celebrate our successes together.”

Auer is a product of the Admira Academy, he moved to Südstadt in 2002 at the age of 11 and went through all the youth teams to the professionals, for whom he made his debut in 2011. In 2015 he joined Rapid. Auer played 132 competitive matches for the Hütteldorfer.

“Stephan Auer is a son of Südstadt. We are therefore very happy that it worked when we returned,” said Franz Wohlfahrt, General Director of Sports at Admira. “He has been playing in the Bundesliga for nine years, so he has a lot of experience and he is also an absolute all-rounder who can play in various positions.”
