Budget 2021: there should be no austerity course

[ad_1]

The negotiations for the 2021 budget are in the final: who could be the winners and who could be the losers.

Vienna The Austrian state budget is heavily overloaded: billions of aid packages have been collected from Corona. And on the revenue side, there is a lack of tax revenue due to high unemployment and the economy is weak. However, a budget needs to be drawn up for 2021. Negotiations on this issue are in full swing and should be concluded soon.

It is clear that the crisis will last at least until the summer. Until then, a relaxation in the labor market and a rebound in the economy are not expected. To artificially keep patient Austria alive, the government wants to invest heavily next year to stimulate the economy. Crown packages weighing in the tens of billions, of which little has been accessed so far, will be carried over into next year. In addition, there should be large one-off investments: a lot should be built and invested in infrastructure, of course everything is ecological. After all, the Greens sit in government.
