2020 will go down in history due to the corona pandemic. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has now declared that next year will be a three-way battle.
The situation of the crown in Austria is getting worse. “It should be clear to everyone in the country: the situation is dire,” Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said recently in a letter to the federal states. In view of the rapid increase in the number in the country, the vice president also called for stricter measures.
On Thursday afternoon, the governor of Salzburg, Wilfried Haslauer, reacted to the situation of the crown in the state and pulled the rope. He quarantined the Kuchl community in Tennengau (Hallein district) of Salzburg and turned the region red at the Corona traffic light. Above all, the large number of groups and the lack of willingness to cooperate on the part of the locals are causing a headache for the authorities.
“2021 will be a three-way battle”
But crown numbers are increasing in the other federal states as well. A total of 1,552 new cases were added on Thursday, 480 of them in Vienna alone. In view of the rising numbers, there is growing uncertainty among the population and rumors of a second lockdown have been circulating for weeks. If the situation in the country does not improve, this could happen as early as November.
The year 2020 is about Corona. And the virus will (probably) be with us for a month or two next year, at least until there’s a vaccine. Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz announced Thursday that a “Triathlon” will be:
1. The fight for every Covid patient
2. Fight for all companies
3. Fight for every job
“Right now we have to invest massively in jobs and in the location of the business,” said a message from the Federal Chancellery. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz also looks to the future with hope and has already spoken of the “light at the end of the tunnel” in several of his speeches. In the summer of 2021 also “we will return to our usual normality”.
