The Vienna stock market closed the session on Friday with only positive signs. The leading national ATX index rose 0.09 percent to 2,214.62 points. The broader ATX Prime was also up 0.08 percent to 1,132.00 units. The ATX had shown clear price gains for long periods, but then lost all of its gains in the late afternoon and fell into the red, from which it spiked to positive shortly before the end of trading.
The leading index was dragged down mainly by losses from heavyweight Erste Group. The shares had extended their discounts in the afternoon and closed 2.13 percent below the main market low. Raiffeisen Bank International also lost 0.72 percent, while Bawag gained 1.40 percent.
All things considered, business was quiet but friendly at the end of the week. According to market experts, risks such as the increasing number of new corona infections are currently ignored. The courses are currently backed by the prospect of a Democratic victory in the US election and hopes for a US stimulus package. Now there appears to be progress in the dispute between Democrats and Republicans over another Corona aid package.
On the news side, things remained quiet in Vienna, with some analysts’ views on individual stocks. Leading Swiss bank Credit Suisse has dropped the “underperforming” rating for the shares of national oil and gas company OMV based on the latest interim results. Experts also confirmed the target price of 35.00 euros. OMV left the meeting 0.42 percent higher to 23.78 euros.
Raiffeisen Centrobank (RCB) has raised its investment recommendation for the national property developer to “Buy” and, at the same time, has lowered its target price from € 43.0 to € 39.0. One of the reasons given for the update was the drop in the share price in recent months – the new target price includes upside potential of more than thirty percent. UBM shares closed 0.34 percent higher at 29.40 euros.
Some real estate values, which had already risen significantly on Thursday, came back out of the meeting with premiums. Including Immofinanz, which was up 3.37 percent and Immo, which was up 1.88 percent. In an industry comparison, insurers relented. Uniqa fell 0.19 percent, Vienna Insurance Group lost 0.80 percent./kat/mik/APA/fba
