Based on an internet video, the police investigated a BMW driver drifting around a Mercedes at the GTI meeting in Villach.
As part of the unofficial GTI meeting, a massive administrative infraction occurred in a parking lot along the Villach Alpine Road (nature reserve) on Sunday. A driver from Vienna circled a Mercedes C63 AMG in his BMW M4, causing “undue noise and massive emissions” according to police.
After a video of this incident appeared on social media, the traffic department of the Villach City Police Command began intensive investigations. Ultimately, both the owner of the drifting vehicle and the driver of the Mercedes, also from Vienna, could be determined.
Fine of up to 5,000 euros
According to the police, further interrogations will follow, the penalty range is up to 5,000 euros. In recent days there were several police operations at the GTI meeting around Wörther and Faakersee. Due to the enormous attack, the executive even had to intervene with barricades.
