The alleged perpetrator, a 31-year-old Dutchman, is said to have fired at least eight shots at his victim. Then it is said that he led the Viennese on the log into a forest and pushed him down a steep slope.
The man is said to have shot Wiener several times
The incident occurred on the night of July 8. The two men were traveling together in the Viennese’s car, apparently to pick up a friend of the Dutchman. But after a few hundred meters, the two of them should have gotten into each other’s hair for unknown reasons. The Dutchman is said to have got out and walked to the edge of the road and fired at least seven shots from there at the Viennese, who was still behind the wheel and had in the meantime started. After a few meters of driving, the victim ran out of the car and remained almost motionless on the sidewalk.
It is said that the defendant loaded the victim in the trunk
The shooter is said to have left the wounded man behind and reloaded the pistol with at least six cartridges in his apartment, which is only about 100 meters away, according to police. He was later said to have returned to the crime scene, loaded the 40-year-old man into the trunk of the wrecked car, and fired at least one more shot at him. Then he is said to have driven a few kilometers into a forest, where he is said to have pushed him down a steep embankment.
Murder weapon found in car seat
The Dutchman is said to have returned to his apartment later, where the police appeared because he had lost his key card, obviously when he was invited to enter the boot of the Viennese. When officers found ammunition in the apartment, they temporarily detained him. In the vicinity of the accommodation they also came across the Viennese’s car, in which the murder weapon was in the passenger seat.
As the Viennese was still able to make an emergency call despite his injuries and give his coordinates, a police patrol found him in the early hours of the morning with serious injuries on rough terrain. They took him to the hospital. “The victim survived with the most serious injuries and has since been discharged from the home,” said today’s broadcast.
The defendant should only want to express himself in court
In the meantime, the Dutchman has been admitted to Salzburg prison, but will apparently only want to comment on the crime during the trial at the earliest. The police suspect that he wanted to kill the Viennese and take his car. The 31-year-old was reported to the Salzburg prosecutor’s office on suspicion of attempted murder, serious robbery, deprivation of liberty and suspension.
