“And what you hear, two concepts emerge: a soft lockdown, not as we are used to so far, which could start on November 2. Or November 16, all for two or three weeks. . But: “If it really escalates, it can lead to a hard lockdown, as we’ve known it since spring.”
However, according to Bürger, it could also be a “soft” lockdown, in which, for example, the curfew is advanced in restaurants or the number of people at private parties is minimized. “There is also a package of measures, but all of this has been saved for the day after the Vienna elections,” said ZiB’s head of internal policy.
Schramböck does not rule out a new confinement
Just a few days ago, the ÖVP Minister of Economy, Margarete Schramböck, had not ruled out a new blockade. “I don’t have a crystal ball. Isreal didn’t think it would happen either. Now people talk about districts in New York. That should give us pause,” Schramböck explains in an interview with the “Kleine Zeitung”.
