Munich. As announced by Prime Minister Markus Söder, Bavaria yesterday introduced mandatory tests for travelers from foreign corona access points. Anyone who regularly travels to the Free State at least once a week from a risk area for professional or educational purposes must regularly submit corona tests to the competent authority.
“Anyone who regularly travels to Bavaria from a risk area (…) at least once a week to stay there for professional or business reasons, for training purposes or to attend school or university, must be held responsible of your work, business, training, the local authority responsible for the location of the school or university or a body commissioned by it, unsolicited and immediately 1. within seven days of the first entry after October 23, 2020 and 2. thereafter regularly in each subsequent calendar week a test result for an infection with the coronavirus Present SARS-CoV-2 ”, says the regulation.
The test result must be based on a molecular biological test. The test should not be more than 48 hours.
The criticisms come from the Chamber of Commerce and Labor. A PCR test would cost up to 175 euros. To be tested weekly, it costs up to 700 euros per month. “The borders of Bavaria must remain open for the flow of people and goods and must not be blocked by careless measures,” said WKOÖ President Doris Hummer, also seeing a danger to the company’s location.
The Czech Republic does not require any proof.
Unlike Bavaria, corona tests are not required to travel to the Czech Republic. Entry is only possible in essential cases (professional reasons, family emergencies and medical consultations). Travel for tourist reasons is not allowed.
