The Wels Flyers provide the 17th and penultimate basic round of the basketball super league with an important victory in the fight for a spot in the qualifying round.
The Austrian Highs beat the now tied fifth BC Vienna with 101: 91 (50:38) and thus secure their sixth place with two points ahead of UBSC Graz, which against the Kapfenberg Bulls a 68: 89- (38: 47) – Picking up the home defeat.
BC Vienna announced the separation of coach Luigi Gresta before the game. The fourth SKN St. Pölten has two points more than the Viennese and the Welsers after an 82: 71 (39:46) home win over the third Swans Gmunden.
The Austrians from Lower Austria are thus fixed in the placement round alongside Kapfenberg, Klosterneuburg and Gmunden. Vienna, Wels, Graz and Oberwart are fighting for the two remaining spots.
