Only about 80 of the 281 employees will remain employed, as the credit protection association KSV1870 announced Friday afternoon. The closing of the branches was already approved by the court on October 23, 2020.
The Austrian subsidiary of the German group Klier Hair, which is experiencing financial difficulties, is based in Bergheim (Flachgau). As a result of the crown crisis, it is over-indebted, but according to previous information it has liquid funds and is solvent.
The chain operates 30 “Frisör Klier” stores in Austria, four “Reduced Price Hair Salons” and a “Cut and Color” studio. Of these, only nine branches will remain, namely one in Oberwart, Güssing, Wiener Neustadt, Zwettl, Schrems, Fürstenfeld, Villach, Lienz and Bregenz. All seven branches in Upper Austria are closing.
