Just in time for classes to start today, the Badner Bahn is back on the road at rush hour, after construction work took place on the tracks during the summer.

From the end of June to the beginning of September, Wiener Lokalbahnen (WLB) renovated around 1.3 kilometers of track infrastructure on the section from Schedifkaplatz to Schöpfwerk.

School start: Badner Bahn construction work completed

Construction work was completed as scheduled in time for school to begin on September 7. During peak hours, the Badner Bahn runs on the section between the Vienna State Opera and Wiener Neudorf every 7.5 minutes.

During construction work in the summer, Badner Bahn was able to alternate on one track despite restrictions and thus maintain its operation between Vienna and Baden.

In October: change of train at the Schedifkaplatz stop

Following the renovation of the track on the route between Schedifkaplatz and the pumping station, the rails will be changed directly at the Schedifkaplatz stop zone from now on and probably until mid-October. In order to keep rail operations on track, this track work is only performed at night during downtime.

The Schedifkaplatz stop is always accessible to passengers during construction work, the Badner Bahn runs without restrictions. Modernization work at the Maria Enzersdorf Südstadt stop is still ongoing. Replacement platforms are available for passengers to get on and off.
