Nothing again! Austria had started the journey to the Cup quarter-finals at FC Red Bull Salzburg in hopes of landing the big break.
The cup competition would have been a short and welcome path to Europe, as reaching this goal through the Bundesliga, currently seventh, will be difficult. But in the end everything went as expected.

In the current situation, Austria has other goals besides being able to stand up to Salzburg. The association’s financial difficulties are well known, the search for an investor is prolonged, the future of individual decision-makers is open.
On the field, the favorites are trying to make up for the fall false start and still qualify for the championship group. The trend is bullish, the elimination against Salzburg will not change that.
We will see on Wednesday if it is a pleasure to meet again. Because then Salzburg and Austria will meet again, in the Bundesliga. A points win would probably count more than a cup sensation.
