Gerald Loacker: “Austria ends this year with many open questions. Right now, information is needed at eye level. “
Vienna (OTS) – At the end of this year, the federal government still owes some answers to urgent questions. NEOS Health Spokesperson Gerald Loacker: “Corona vaccination gives us all a lot of confidence. It will be months before enough people in Austria are vaccinated. Unfortunately, the federal government is again confronting us with many unanswered questions, if only in regards to vaccine management. The three phases of the government’s vaccination strategy are repeated over and over again at press conferences. When the vaccines will be delivered, how people will be vaccinated and why Austria will receive far fewer vaccines in proportion to Germany by the end of the year, remains open. Therefore NEOS has asked the government parliamentary questions and has 5 questions for the Crown. The administration formulates:
- Why does Germany receive proportionally so many more vaccines than Austria in a shorter period of time?
- When and how do citizens find out when and with whom they can get vaccinated and if they must register for it?
- How are those COVID vaccines entered into the electronic vaccination registry that were administered before the electronic vaccination registry was implemented or by public health officials, municipalities, etc.?
- Where does the government see how much of the administered vaccine has actually been vaccinated to determine vaccination coverage?
- How should the “free trial” be performed for about 8 million Austrians over a weekend and who should check for negative tests in restaurants or shops?
“Above all, it would be important to listen to people’s questions and answer them to increase public confidence in vaccination. In particular, the issue of checking a negative test creates uncertainty among many entrepreneurs. The ad policy should end in 2021. Now we need a transparent and honest information policy on an equal footing, ”says Loacker.
