At least 60 people: the Wiener Akademikerbund rallied despite blockades

The blockade is not accepted everywhere: on Thursday night the police had to move to Schlösselgasse in Vienna-Josefstadt. The reason: the Vienna Academic Association (by its own definition, Austria’s oldest conservative think tank) met for an extraordinary general assembly.

Between 60 and 70 people were in the basement rooms. Presumably, a resident informed the police, who even temporarily blocked the street. “The people found were in a very small space without protection for the mouth and nose,” Vienna police said. Upon the arrival of the police, those present are said to have declared: “We will continue with our meeting,” and the door is said to have been closed. But that didn’t help them. Various reports were filed under the Covid 19 Measures Act and the Events Act.

“I had urgent matters to discuss”

Christian Zeitz from the Vienna Academic Association confirms the meeting. “We had urgent matters to discuss,” he explains. That is, with respect to crown measurements. “With regard to the Crown regime, you have to take an active position against the government.”
The meeting could be held until the end, you do not want to rule more (even during the confinement).

The police issued a total of 608 reports and body warrants in accordance with the Covid 19 Measures Act and the Epidemic Act from November 17 to 19. In Vienna it was only on Thursday (the day of the event) in Vienna 26.
