Arrest: man threw objects from third-floor reader

On Saturday, a man threw a television, VCR and a weight bench outside his apartment in Döbling. Now the police have revealed details.

There was a large-scale operation by police and Wega officials in Hardtgasse, on the corner of Billrothgasse in Döbling, at 9.45 am on Saturday morning.

A 35-year-old man threw objects from his balcony onto the sidewalk and onto the pavement from the third floor. Among them were items such as a TV, a bar bench and video recorders, police said. Billrothstraße was closed in both directions, Döblinger Hauptstraße’s Hardtgasse and Peter-Jordan Straße in the direction of Hardtgasse.

Wega officials forcibly opened the door

Wega officials had to take the door of the 35-year-old Austrian citizen, who was visibly in a psychological emergency,

opened by force. The man also actively resisted during the attack by throwing more objects at police officers. In addition, he tried to defend himself against the arrest with beatings and kicks, police said.

Without injuries, the man arrived at the hospital after the arrest.

The suspect, who was apparently in a psychological emergency, was subsequently taken to a hospital for additional care.

There were no injuries during the operation. There was only property damage. The windshield and side mirror of a radio car were also damaged by thrown objects.
