A 42-year-old gun owner threatened to kill his family in Obernberg (Ried district). The Cobra moved in and arrested him.
On Monday, around 1 pm, a call was received at the Obernberg police station (Ried im Innkreis district). A 16-year-old girl reported that her father (42) threatened to end the family. The police must come.
“The first policemen will fall”
When the officers arrived at the scene, they were greeted by the girl’s aunt and her boyfriend. They warned the police, explained that the 42-year-old had already noticed that the police were there and then said that the police would be the first to “fall” if they entered his home.
Guns in the bedroom
After it became known that the man had at least three weapons in the bedroom, the Cobra Police Task Force was notified. With the support of other patrols, “external security was installed,” as the police say.
Meanwhile, the Ried im Innkreis prosecutor ordered the 42-year-old’s arrest and a house search.
Fortunately, however, it didn’t have to be forced. Over the phone, they persuaded the 42-year-old man to turn himself in. “He left the house and was arrested without resistance,” police said. He was transferred to the police station and, according to the police and the prosecutor, he continues to be questioned.
Alcohol in the game
The threat was preceded by family disputes. Above all, alcohol has likely been a controversial topic here, the 42-year-old is said to have been drunk at the time of the threat, as prosecutor Ried opposed “Today” explained. The exact background is not currently known.
During the search of the house, the agents found several weapons and ammunition for a blank pistol. A temporary weapons ban has been issued.
