The number of new corona infections in Austria continues to rise! Health Minister Rudolf Anschober is now urging caution.

The crown’s situation is getting worse in Austria. In the last 24 hours, a total of 2,571 new cases were registered throughout the country. As the Federal Ministry of the Interior announced on Friday, there have been 74,415 positive test results in the country so far.

As of today (9:30 am), 954 people in Austria have died from the consequences of the corona virus and 55,195 have recovered. There are currently 1,058 people in hospital treatment for the coronavirus, 158 of them in intensive care units.

Despite the rapid increase in numbers in Austria, Health Minister Rudolf Anschober reassures us. Because the use of intensive care beds is still not a problem, but at a press conference on Friday he warned to be careful with the fall holidays: “If you can somehow stay home!”

“There is no reason to panic”

27 percent of people in Austria now live in one of the 25 areas that have been turned red, but that “is not cause for panic”. A crash can still be prevented. “This is exactly where we don’t want to go in Austria,” Anschober said, referring to the closures in Slovenia, Italy and Slovakia, which are partially in place. In the Czech Republic, a real blockade was imposed on Thursday.

The crown numbers in Austria are serious, but you still have all the possibilities. “The parameter, of course, remains the situation in intensive care areas,” Anschober said. With this, the legal regulation for the confinement is anchored.

At the press conference, however, Rudolf Anschober warned of “important dates”, the fall holidays. Regarding Halloween in particular, the Health Minister said: “This is where things often go wrong.” In 2020, however, there is no place for this.
