Anschober: no contact tracing after extensive massive testing

Refuse teachers with FFP2 masks?

Carinthia Governor Peter Kaiser (SPÖ) stressed in the “Morgenjournal” that the basic legal requirements for mass testing have yet to be created. Also, you’ve wasted a few days in preparation, so you should have sat down earlier. In terms of voluntariness, Kaiser criticized: “I heard yesterday that educators who do not want the test may have to wear protective FFP2 masks.” Something like this should be discussed with those affected, the unions and the staff representatives. If you use the term voluntariness, it should also apply in its entirety.

Kaiser sees strategy at risk

For Kaiser, however, the strategy to contain the pandemic becomes relative if contact tracing is not used. In Carinthia, the current 300 people will increase by 100 more.

In any case, resources for contact tracing throughout Austria are scarce. A WHO online calculator assumes that at least 13,000 people are needed, that is, three times more than there are today, according to Ö1 “Morgenjournal”. Due to the current situation in Austria, there would be a maximum of 47,000 people responsible for the necessary contact tracing.
