From Tuesday to Wednesday, 772 new corona infections were recorded in Austria. Almost 500 Covid patients are currently being treated in Austrian hospitals.
The number of people actively infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Austria was almost unchanged on Wednesday at 8,370 compared to the previous day. There were 8,329 people. 772 new infections detected with 728 recoveries were compared and there were no major changes in the number of hospitalized patients with 496 people (plus five, at 9.30 am), the number of intensive care patients remained the same at 90.
772 new corona infections in Austria
According to the Residential Epidemiological Register (EMS), 799 people in Austria died as a result of the corona virus, and three more Covid-19-related deaths occurred in 24 hours. Of the 44,813 who have tested positive since the pandemic outbreak in Austria, 35,644 have recovered, the Health Ministry and the Interior Ministry announced on Wednesday.
327 of the 772 new infections were in Vienna, 173 in Lower Austria. Upper Austria reported 96 positive PCR tests, Tirol 66 and Salzburg 36. Vorarlberg (24), Carinthia (23), Burgenland (17) and Styria followed with ten cases.
