The Vorarlberg state board also shows fewer patients in Vorarlberg hospitals for Tuesday.

Six other people died from or with the corona virus, bringing the death toll in Vorarlberg to 136.

Numbers in the districts

The majority of Covid cases are currently in the Bregenz district, followed by Feldkirch, Dornbirn, and Bludenz.

Figures of the municipalities

The following table emerges in the municipalities:

The situation in hospitals is stable

The situation in the country’s hospitals remained stable. Of the 79 intensive care beds nationwide, 31, one fewer than the last, were occupied by corona patients. Currently, 32 intensive care beds were still available for all patient groups on Monday. A total of 154 corona patients were treated in the hospitals.

At the moment, there has been no sustained recovery in the number of infected hospital employees. 91 (plus 18) were infected with the corona virus, 45 (plus seven) other employees were quarantined as contact persons.

As of Tuesday afternoon, there were twelve municipalities in Vorarlberg with more than 50 actively infected. In five municipalities, the number of cases exceeded 100, with the city of Dornbirn ahead of Feldkirch and Bregenz and Lustenau. Ten of the 96 municipalities of Vorarlberg were free of the corona virus.

Vorarlberg prepares for massive tests

Vorarlberg is no longer a “hotspot”

According to the crown board of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), Vorarlberg had a significantly better value on Tuesday with the incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants than before and is now well below the Austrian average. With 292 new infections per 100,000 residents in the past seven days, the state fared better than Salzburg, Carinthia, Upper Austria, Tyrol and Styria. Only Burgenland, Lower Austria and Vienna show better values than Vorarlberg.

Austria’s average on Tuesday was 335.

With an incidence of seven days between 220 and 350, the four districts of Vorarlberg are roughly in the lower midfield of the 94 Austrian districts. Especially noteworthy is Dornbirn, who a few weeks ago was still considered an Austrian “problem child”. The Dornbirn district now has clearly the lowest value of all the Vorarlberg districts.
