In Reutte, Tirol, an 88-year-old man was apparently injured for two days in the kitchen of his apartment. The man was found Thursday morning after a 24-year-old mail carrier stated that she had not seen him in two days. Finally, firefighters opened the door after hearing a call for help from the apartment. The 88-year-old man was lying on his back and was accessible.
He said that he had fallen, but that he could no longer remember exactly how long he was in the defenseless position. After first aid, the man was taken to Reutte hospital with the ambulance.
The postman said she was concerned that the mail was still in front of the apartment door. She had always put the post in front of the door, as agreed, because the 88-year-old could no longer pick it up from the ground floor of the apartment building due to his age.
