Innsbruck – A trainee girl was sent from her training company in the Tyrolean Oberland for additional training, which she then had to pay for herself. The Tyrol Chamber of Labor went to court and was able to obtain reimbursement for the course costs of 800 euros for the apprentice, as AK Tyrol wrote in a broadcast.

The company relied on a training cost reimbursement agreement that was allegedly agreed with the trainee. “These agreements are basically possible in the labor law, but not for apprentices if the attendance to the specific course is carried out within the scope of the training obligation of the training company,” explains Peter Schumacher, head of the youth department.

In addition, 75 percent of such training costs are reimbursed to companies through the training company subsidy, adds the Chamber of Labor. (TT)
