The district chief of the red city council jumps up beside him. Pfeifer had presented his point of view. There must also be critical voices at the party.
Patrick Pfeifer, SPÖ councilor in Pitten (Neunkirchen district), has been defended by his district party president after criticizing Pamela Rendi-Wagner, leader of SPÖ. Pfeifer has given his point of view, district president Mayor Rupert Dworak said Wednesday at the request of the APA.
Pfeifer said nothing dishonorable, disrespectful, or even insulting, Dworak noted. He had spoken to the local council as the district party leader. One has to “allow a young Social Democrat to express his opinion. There must be critical voices in the party.” One can discuss the moment, Dworak added.
Rendi-Wagner had not ruled out the consequences for internal critics in the ORF’s “press hour” on Sunday, including excluding parties. Pfeifer accused her of “dictatorial principles” in a Facebook post that had since been removed.
At SPÖ, it was said that Rendi-Wagner did not forward her statement at “press time” generally to internal critics of the party, but to those who alleged that the membership poll had been miscounted.
