A 60-year-old man is likely to have drowned during the night from Saturday to Sunday on his way home to Landl township (Liezen district) in Styria. Emergency services found the man Sunday afternoon at the Enns, police announced Sunday night. The Upper Styrian had previously been reported missing. According to the police, no evidence of third party negligence could be found.
The man celebrated after a club outing on Saturday at a clubhouse in Hieflau (Landl township) right next to the Enns. Around midnight, he left the restaurant very drunk. He never made it to a restaurant not far away that the 60-year-old supposedly wanted to go. When the 60-year-old failed to show up for an agreed-upon breakfast Sunday morning and could not be found in his apartment, a search was launched. An alerted police helicopter crew finally found the man’s body shortly after 2.15pm on a search flight on the Enns.
