“Green Pass”: EU countries want a list of tourism priorities

Austria and 12 other EU countries have agreed to draw up a “common priority list with clear criteria for the green passport for tourism”. The Vienna Tourism Ministry informed the APA after a virtual meeting of department heads on Monday that this list “should be coordinated among the 13 EU countries and sent to the European Commission before Easter.”

Tourism Minister Elisabeth Köstinger (ÖVP) had invited the consultations. Their EU counterparts from Germany, Denmark, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, Cyprus, Malta and Bulgaria participated. These are countries in which tourism plays an important role, he anticipated.

“The ‘Green Pass’ must be valid and legible at all airports and hotels in Europe. Practical implementation is therefore crucial for tourism,” emphasized Köstinger in the broadcast. Vaccinated, recovered and tested EU citizens should “be able to take advantage of the freedom to travel”.
