Masks rejected at school – three teachers fired – Upper Austria

Because they refused to wear FFP2 masks in class and in the school building, three teachers have lost their jobs.

In three districts of Upper Austria, a teacher was fired because the educators acted as masked rebels. As “Krone” reports, teachers at Marianum Secondary School in Freistadt, Wels-Stadt and Vöcklabruck were affected.

“There were many efforts to convince him of compliance with the applicable hygienic and preventive measures, all in vain,” the education department cites in the report. At Freistadt, Braunau and Steyr-Stadt, other teachers could still be convinced of the FFP2 masks.

Cases in Vienna too

It is not the first case of its kind. As it became known in January, three teachers from Brigittenau’s apprenticeship workshop in the school building also refused to comply with the mask requirement. However, due to applicable Corona rules, this is mandatory in educational institutions. The school management is said to have intervened and held talks. But even this did not teach the three who rejected the mask and continued to give up MNS protection. More here >>
