Four main perpetrators were located between the ages of 36 and 61 and 33 sub-distributors, 28 of whom were arrested and nine were reported at liberty. The quartet did not shy away from acts of violence, police said Thursday.
In April of the previous year, a 35-year-old man and a 36-year-old man had a dispute over a cell phone in Linz. This escalated and the younger one stabbed the other with a knife in the thigh and took the cell phone. The victim later confessed to police to be a drug dealer. Then the investigators showed him other crimes. The man has now been sentenced to two years in prison, the 35-year-old is still awaiting trial. The police informed the police not only that they had to answer for the methamphetamine and cannabis trade, as well as for a serious robbery, but also for the sexual abuse of a defenseless and drugged person.
During further investigations, officials came across the drug ring. A 55-year-old Austrian and a 58-year-old Serbian, who are referred to in the middle as a “crystal grandmother”, were caught on the way back to bring drugs from Vienna to Linz. A little later, the police caught a messenger in Brunn am Gebirge. He had collected fabrics from Slovakia.
33 sub-dealers, known as road runners, are said to have sold a total of 9.2 kilos of methamphetamine, 500 grams of heroin and three kilos of cannabis herb to drug dealers in Linz in six months in mid-December 2020. Apparently 40 more bicycle thefts, some of which were of high quality, were attributed to three other gang members.
