An 80-year-old apartment owner died in a fire in Linz-Urfahr on Wednesday morning. The cause of the fire was still unclear at night.
“On January 20, 2021 at 9:40 am, Linz police officers were summoned to a fire in an apartment on Keplerstrasse. When they got there, the 77-year-old sister of the 80-year-old householder was waiting for them. The officers entered the apartment with their keys. The owner was lying on the ground. The police took the woman out, where she was detained by the firefighters. Despite resuscitation attempts, an emergency doctor who had arrived in the meantime could only determine the death of the 80-year-old woman. The cause of the fire and the amount of the damage have not yet been determined. The investigations were taken over by the group of firefighters from the Upper Austrian State Criminal Police Office, “police reported.
