Quickly prepared full aid package: transport by volunteer fire brigade to Croatia today
Vienna (OTS) – Yesterday, Croatia was hit by a big earthquake. The Ministry of the Interior, as the responsible department, responded immediately to the international request for assistance and provides prompt assistance: “Austria has been a reliable partner in international disaster relief for many years. Therefore, it is natural to send the necessary relief supplies quickly, ”said Interior Minister Karl Nehammer.
“The state fire brigade associations of Lower Austria and Vienna will still be on the way with more than 30 vehicles today to deliver the Austrian relief supplies to the Croatian authorities,” said Karl Nehammer.
At the request of the Croatian authorities, the Ministry of the Interior offered the following relief supplies:
The Lower Austrian Fire Brigade Association handles the transport of 50 containers and 470 folding beds. The transport will take place tonight with 30 vehicles, 25 trucks with interchangeable bodywork and 5 escort vehicles, from Tulln / Lower Austria via Graz to Croatia.
The Vienna Fire Brigade Association transports more relief supplies:
The truck-sized transport will also leave for Croatia in the early afternoon today.
The remaining residential containers will be transported to Croatia by the Lower Austrian Firefighters Association on New Year’s Day.
“My thanks go in particular to the volunteer fire brigades with whom the Interior Ministry has worked very well for decades,” concluded the Interior Minister.
