On Saturday, after the third blockade came into effect, the police broke up the first unauthorized crown parties. In Vienna-Hietzing, young people have even rented a house especially for this.

It was reported that 22 of the estimated 40 to 50 party guests between the ages of 13 and 22, the rest were able to flee. A second celebration held in Margareten also broke up on Saturday night, police said.

The youths called the police after a head injury.

The unauthorized party in Vienna-Hietzing was exposed because a guest injured his head while intoxicated on the night of St. Stephen’s Day. His friends took the young man outside and alerted the ambulance a few blocks from the house. Then the police came in and quickly noticed the nearby festival. During the inspection, the party participants were initially able to flee. Officers could no longer find anyone in the home.

Just an hour and a half later, emergency services returned to the house. A neighbor had complained about the noise. He also reported that firearms were involved.

WEGA got closer: residents reported on guns

Then the police called for reinforcements. The district forces, the police dog unit and colleagues from the WEGA special unit finally reached the house on Speisinger Strasse. Of the approximately 40 to 50 guests at the party, only 22 could be found. The rest fled through neighboring properties. Some still tried to hide in the basement. The teenagers were denounced for violating the Covid 19 Emergency Measures Ordinance. An 18-year-old Austrian and a 19-year-old German also have to answer for possession of drugs, presumably marijuana.

The weapon mentioned by the neighbor turned out to be a blank pistol. The officers also found a machete, a knife and ammunition. Everything was insured. The key to the house has been removed and the owner of the incident will now be reported.

The party in Vienna-Margareten also dissolved

Around the same time, the police broke up a party in Margareten. Here, too, a resident complained about the noise. Several announcements were aired. In the first days of the confinement (December 26-27, 6:30 a.m.), the police registered a total of 50 reports and eleven mandates from the board for violating the Covid 19 Emergency Measures Ordinance.
