After no players hit the Christmas jackpot in the lottery, Austria is heading to a record six and eight million euros this year.
The five-time jackpot on Wednesday was not broken and the six-time jackpot could now become a record. Around eight million euros will be in the prize pool, “only” 8 million, but it should not be forgotten that the strongest playing days, namely Friday and Saturday, are public holidays and therefore likely to tip less, say the Austrian Lotteries.
Higher than ever winning chances?
It is calculated with around three million tips, so no more than what would be played in a “normal” Sunday round, but with a much higher possible win. A single six with eight million euros would be a “best of the year” because then they would be the six highest this year. However: only one of the five six-way jackpots above was single player.
The previous six-choice jackpots
The lucky solo victory came in April this year, which brought Lower Austria € 7.7 million. A Styrian and an Austrian shared the first six-time jackpot, which was played exactly on Christmas Eve 2017. There were two winners, both from Vienna, in September 2018. The third six-time jackpot became the seven-time jackpot (so far only) in November 2018; And once there were three winners of a six-time jackpot with a Burgenland, a Salzburg and a Styrian.
The internal tips for numbers
Lotteries also have some statistics ready, a kind of insider tips for the jackpot. Five six-way jackpots were played, that is, 30 numbers were drawn. It was noted that three were played on a Wednesday and two on a Sunday. 17 even numbers and 13 odd numbers have been drawn (although there is one more odd number in the betting area). 17 numbers were drawn from the lower half (1-22) and 11 from the upper half (24-45). The 23rd came twice and the 3rd, 8th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 23rd and 38th have already been drawn twice.
