The fact that ÖVP Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner is now enforcing the partial suitability of the armed forces through a decree that bypasses the government partner – which was recently strongly criticized by the Greens – “will not be the biggest problem”, according to Kogler. Because in principle it was agreed “according to the direction”, he does not know exactly the decree.
Kogler did not accept negative findings on the work of the green government as a whole: the successes of his party were “impressive”, they had “achieved a lot” in environmental and climate protection, in social packages for the Crown crisis, with the increase of the judicial budget and the Foreign Fund for Disasters. What strikes you most positively about ÖVP is that it enables the “big offensive” in climate protection. The vice-rector avoided the question of what surprised him negatively: “Let’s leave it out, time is up,” he referred to the exceeded interview time.
