The EC Grand Immo VSV can still win in its own room. After four defeats, the Villachers beat leader HCB Südtirol and won in overtime with 2: 1. Frederik Allard secured VSV’s victory with his goal at 2:49 into overtime. Bolzano suffered the third defeat in the last eight games, but scored a point again.
Fehervar is tied on points, but has played five more games than the South Tyrolese. The Hungarians came off the ice as winners one day after their 7-0 victory over Salzburg. The 4-2 victory was the seventh in a row for Fehervar, who scored 20 of the possible 21 points. In seventh place, Salzburg is up to seven games behind the competition.
KAC shoots anniversary match against Capitals
Like their local rivals, KAC also had reason to be happy again after a series of losses at home (3). The Viennese first took the lead in the middle of the second third through Marco Richter to 3-2, but in the final stretch Nicholas Petersen (47th), Daniel Sticha (58th) and Manuel Ganahl (60th / empty finish line) provided KAC’s 390 league win at the anniversary match. The Caps had recently won on the road three times.
The Dornbirn Bulldogs topped them in the table thanks to a 2-0 win against the Moser Medical Graz 99ers and are sixth. TWK Innsbruck Haie also lost the third game of the season with Bratislava with 2: 3 after a penalty shoot-out. A streak of successes for the Tyrolese came to an end after four victories.
