reThe future president of the United States, Joe Biden, had been vaccinated against the corona virus in front of the cameras. Biden rolled up his left sleeve and told the nurse holding the syringe, “I’m ready.” Then, Biden called on all Americans to get vaccinated as soon as a vaccine is available to them. “There is nothing to worry about,” he assured her.

The future first lady, Jill Biden, was vaccinated Monday in Newark in the state of Delaware.

It will be some time before the pandemic can be contained, Biden said. Until then, people should continue to listen to the advice of experts and wear masks, maintain the necessary safe distance and not take unnecessary trips despite the holidays, the 78-year-old warned.

The current Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence, had been vaccinated in front of the cameras last week. The Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Democrat Nancy Pelosi, and Republican Majority Leader in the US Senate, Mitch McConnell, also received a vaccination on Friday. Former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton have agreed to inject themselves publicly to demonstrate their confidence in the safety of funds and reduce fears among the population.

The Pfizer and Biontech vaccine has been used in the US on the basis of an emergency approval since last Monday. The vaccine from the biotech company Moderna has only been administered in the United States this week.

Democrat Biden will be sworn in as the new president on January 20. It is not yet clear if the incumbent president, Republican Donald Trump, is also planning a public vaccination. His spokesman said he was “absolutely open” to it. There are no concrete plans yet. Trump fell ill with Covid-19 in early October and therefore had to be treated in hospital.
