Marcel Hirscher’s training visit to the ÖSV Giant Slalom caused a stir.

The fact that the eight-time World Cup winner outshined his former active teammates was not an issue on the team. By contrast, Roland Leitinger, for example, is enthusiastic about the Krone: “It’s great. You can still learn from it.”

And he also positively emphasizes: “You could talk to him, he was not as reserved as before.”

It remains to be seen if the joint workouts with Alta Badia’s winning record (six successes in a row from 2013 to 2018) will pay off today. Expectations are low. For Roland Leitinger, a top 10 would be “like Christmas.”
